Approximately 45 miles to the
west and north of Chicago and tucked neatly into the foothills of
the Fox River Valley, lies Algonquin. With the name officially
accepted as of December 23, 1847 and incorporation as a village
achieved in 1890, Algonquin is now a thriving and rapidly growing
community with a solid base of residential and commercial
development. There is an expanding industrial/business sector,
readily available quality education and plenty of opportunity in
Algonquin: a great place to live, to work or just to visit.
Only 30 miles from Chicago's O'Hare Airport and five miles north
of the Northwest Tollway (I-90), it is easy to locate and get to
Algonquin. There are also major regional arteries through the
Village, including Illinois Route 31, Illinois Route 62 and Randall
Road. Striving to maintain a friendly and community-oriented
atmosphere while preserving its character and history "The Gem of
the Fox River Valley" is now a major center of retail activity and a
growing business center that definitely bids you welcome.
